New Moon in Aries
A lunar cycle guide for April 17 - May 15
This guide will be published on each new lunar cycle beginning on the new moon. Also, it will be filled with the moon phases of the month and tips to maximize rest, taking action and celebrating your achievements. Your natal moon sign is your key to understanding what you need to feel emotionally fulfilled, and how to best nurture yourself. Getting to know the moon as they change every few days is a good way to see and feel the “mood” of the day. I work with the moon phases to show me when I need to rest, reflect or move on my inspiration. I love the moon!
What is a Lunar Cycle?
There are approximately 27-29 days in each lunar cycle. The moon will go through 8 phases and change zodiac signs every 2-2.5 days. Aspects to other planets can provide more context on the vibe but getting to see how you feel and some basic tips I have used during each phase you can use or follow your intuition. There are so many layers in astrology when it comes to aspects (relationships to other planets), and so much more. To make this simple I am only working with the moon and some potential auspicious placements. Always use your discernment and trust your intuition! I am sharing my experience and what has worked for me, so feel free to pass if it is not for you. The main goal here I want to share is that learning how you feel with the moon provides another tool to guide your intentions, add to your self-care routines and any healing or your own spiritual practices. If you are one that has a menstrual cycle, then you are heavily influenced by the moon and its phases.

Fun Fact: If you were born under a New Moon, chances are you love spontaneity. You love to take a risk and jump head first. You could be impulsive or restless. When you are at your best you are a great leader much like Aries energy, taking initiative. New moon people love to start over and start new things. But they can get bored, so taking time before making decisions or launching something new is ideal.
VIBE for this New Moon Cycle:
This cycle begins with the new moon in Aries on April 17th. I like this fire energy during Taurus season. To me, this Aries new moon energy may be good for some money making moves. So some things to think about:
What am I passionate about right now? Passion, pleasure and feeling good is the momentum and energy to go for.
If money was no obstacle, what would I do to invest in myself?
Aries New Moon Vibe: I pulled a card to see what collective message Spirit has for us.
If you want to see more abundance, a mind shift is needed. How you begin your day and end carries the vibration of what you will manifest. So wake up with gratitude, go to sleep with gratitude. If it means you switch up your routine, do that. Make the adjustments to make space to heal any feelings of lack. You lack nothing! Seek pleasure and joy in the things that make you feel good. Keep that momentum and you will see abundance arriving in all forms.
Grounding energy is what we will need with all this Fire energy. I did not create a new meditation but you can refer to this one I recorded from eclipse season. With all this fire energy it can leave some of us feeling impulsive, angry or needing to be in a hurry. Use this meditation to help get yourself grounded when you need to.
Message from Spirit if you are a Aries Moon:
Get organized! Do you make space and time to seek pleasure? What does pleasure feel like to you? Make some time to explore your sexual energy. That energy is powerful. So say no, move things around and make time for you!
Moon Phases for this cycle:
New Moon Phase: April 17th
A New Moon brings “potential”. A time to plant seeds typically.
This new moon will be in Aries and the moon is waxing. With the moon waxing, it’s the best time to take action and this Aries energy supports all that!
Tips for this phase: Don’t start too many things. Pick one thing you are excited about. Write your intentions and what that will look like once you get it. Keep this paper until the full moon. The reason is because Aries energy can burn out quickly. Aries people (me as an Aries rising) love to start new things but may have difficulties in finishing. You need to keep and re-read those intentions to remind you of your why!
Crescent Phase: April 20th
This phase begins with the Moon in Gemini.
During this phase it is like the moon begins to peak with a slight sliver.
Tips for this phase: Get curious on the possibilities that will manifest from those intentions. Focus on what it will feel like when you are living in those manifestations!
First Quarter Phase: April 23rd
This moon phase begins with the moon in Leo which is also trining Neptune in Aries.
Vibe: This is where we have to trust any intuitive nudges! If you feel called to take action on an intention, do it. Leo energy supports bold, courageous moves. Put that spotlight on you!
Tips for this phase: Write a few affirmations that align with your intentions. Make it more fun by affirming what it is you are calling in (like you already have it).
Waxing Gibbous Phase: April 27th
This moon phase begins with the moon in Virgo.
Vibe: What seeds have begun taking shape, if any? Have your intentions changed at all? This is a time to review and refine anything. Virgo energy supports list making. Write it out!
Tips for this phase: Take action steps that are inspired. Inspired action is key during a waxing phase. Do what feels right. And with this supportive energy, watch for the auspicious opportunities.
Full Moon Waning Phase: May 1st
This full moon will be in Scorpio.
Vibe: Full moons illuminate! So what aha moments arrive during this time? What did you learn? Celebrate any wins or intentions that manifested. Journal about what did not, because guess what? You can always start over on another new moon! Scorpio energy can bring secrets to light. What have you learned about yourself or someone else?
Tips for this phase: I like to release what no longer serves me from this cycle. But I like to write a gratitude list of what came forth during this cycle as well. Gratitude helps us attract and it also is a beautiful reminder to celebrate what you appreciate.
Disseminating Phase (Waning): May 5th
This phase begins with the moon in Capricorn.
Vibe: This is a time as the moon starts to wane, reflecting on everything since the new moon. Being in Capricorn you may feel more called to reflect on some goals or intentions. Journal about your experiences. What worked out for you?
Tips for this phase: Share what you learned! Write about, blog about, share with your community. Sharing knowledge or your wisdom is key. Good time with the moon trining Mercury. Speak with confidence!
Third Quarter or Last Quarter Phase (Waning): May 9th
This phase begins with the moon in Aquarius which is also trining Venus in Taurus.
Vibe: You may feel like walking away from something that is no longer in alignment.
Tips for this phase: Review what’s not working and not aligning with those intentions or your values.
Balsamic or Waning Crescent Phase: May 13th
This phase begins with the moon in Aries
Vibe: Last phase before the new moon. Time to rest and go within. Reflect. Final release.
Tips for this phase: Let go of something! Can you donate, or get rid of things? Can you let go of old beliefs? Can you let go of shame, guilt or anything that did not work in this lunar cycle? Make peace with the past and make space for the next new cycle!
Special Moon Aspect Days:
April 23- Moon in Leo trining Neptune in Aries
May 9th- Moon in Aquarius trining Venus in Taurus
I hope you enjoyed this guide and see how powerful working with the moon intentionally with each phase will help you understand your personal rhythm and how it syncs with the phases and rhythm of the moon. She is a beautiful tool to add to your own personal self-care routine!
